Green Day's American Idiot

In Concert

City Theater Company, new Resident Company at The Grand, opens the 25th season with a blast from their recent past:

A one night only, in concert version Green Day’s American Idiot, which made its Delaware Premiere at CTC in 2015. The two-time Tony Award winner is based on Green Day’s Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum album of the same name. It’s a rock opera following three lifelong friends on a search for meaning in a post 9/11 world. From the suburbs to the city, the trio navigates their early twenties via the punk rock music of Green Day with lyrics by lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong.

Featuring the hits “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” “21 Guns,” “Wake Me Up When September Ends,” “Holiday,” and the blockbuster title track, Green Day’s American Idiot features the popular Rusty Blue as the backing band, with veteran CTC actor and musician Brendan Sheehan, local rockers George Murphy and Joe Trainor, and Grace Tarves, Darby Elizabeth McLaughlin, Dylan Geringer, William Bryant, and Emma Orr on vocals. Directed by Joe Trainor.

AMERICAN IDIOT is presented through special arrangement with Music Theater International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. 421 W. 54th Street, New York, NY 10019. Phone 212-541-4684 Fax: 212-397-4684 www.MTIShows.com.
